Here are five easy meal ideas that are mom friendly. Easy to make and quick. Perfect for getting a healthy meal in with the least amount of work. Every night doesn’t look the same, but you still want to make sure your family eats a healthy meal majority of the week. Eating out cost way too much, and a lot of boxed foods contain unwanted chemicals and preservatives. These meals are sure to leave you feeling full, are healthy, and don’t take long to make.

1. Baked Chicken with sides
Number one on the easy meal idea list is baked chicken with sides. This meal is super easy to make. All you have to do is wash and season the chicken and then pop it in the oven at 375 degrees. You can choose what sides you like. At least one veggie and a starch is what we usually do. We add broccoli or green beans with potatoes or rice. If you have a rice cooker use it! I think it cooks the rice way faster and you don’t have to mess with it. If you don’t have one you can get one on Amazon here.

2. Taco Salad
Who doesn’t love a good taco night? You’ve had a long day and just got home from work. You don’t want to eat out but also don’t want to spend hours in the kitchen. Number two on the easy meal idea list is you guessed it. Taco salad. The perfect meal for busy nights. The most work you have to do is prep the veggies, such as the lettuce and tomato. Other than that, you brown the ground beef/turkey, season it and you’re good to go. You can use taco shells or tortilla chips for the base and of course add all your toppings. If you’d like a special twist to this taco salad, check out this recipe idea here.

3. Fish and Sides
Now this meal is sort of like the baked chicken idea except with fish. Now we are talking easy meals, so you can fry the fish if you would like, but the easiest way would be to bake the fish in the oven. Again, all you have to do is season the fish and toss it in. You choose your veggies. Maybe asparagus or collard greens. I always like to recommend a green veggie. Then you can choose your second side which could be potatoes or rice or your favorite grain. If you can’t tell we eat a lot of potatoes and rice.

4. Spagehtti
This one is my family’s absolute favorite meal. They will eat spaghetti at any time. This is the all-time easiest and hardiest meal to make. As simple as 1,2,3. You brown the ground beef/turkey. While your meat is browning you are going to boil your water for the pasta. After meat is browned season it and add in black beans (if you like) and marinara sauce. You can either mix everything together at the end or scoop the meat onto the pasta. Again, super easy and can be served with rolls, garlic toast, or even a salad. I recommend a salad or some sort of green because there are no veggies in the spaghetti.

5. Chilli
Last but not least we have my all-time favorite. Chilli! This is a perfect meal just in time for fall and definitely deserves a spot on the easy meal ideas list. The steps are quick and easy. You brown the meat and onions. Once browned you add everything else to the pot and just let it simmer. How easy is that? All you need is, kidney beans, pinto beans, tomato paste, beef broth, diced tomatoes, and your seasonings. Serve with crackers or toast and you have a wonderful, hearty meal. You can also always add a salad.
