Slider Sensations: Mastering Mini Burgers at Home

Sliders are one of the best quick meals you can make at home. They are easy to make and don’t take that much time. Plus, who doesn’t love a mini burger? Perfect dinner for a week night or weekend.

Making the sliders

The part that took the longest was cooking the ground beef. I cooked the ground beef and crumbled it. It was not like a mini patty burger. While letting the ground beef cook, I started to prepare the buns. I separated the tops and the bottoms, put them on pans, and put them in the oven to broil.

Be sure to set a timer if you are one to get distracted easily and forget there’s something in the oven. Here I am speaking for myself too, because I am the main one leaving something in the oven and completely forgetting about it.

When you set it on broil to high, it should only take a few minutes. You just want the buns to get a little brown, so they won’t get soggy from the hamburger meat.

Once you season the hamburger meat and it’s cooked all the way though, it’s time to put the meat on the bun.

After that, put the meat on the buns and layer it with cheese. I used dairy free shredded cheese for my little ones and normal dairy cheese for me and my husband. Certain dairy free cheese does not melt the way I would like it to, so I stick with the regular shredded cheese for me and my husband.

You pop them in the oven for 5-8 minutes or until the cheese has melted. And you’re done. Of course, if you want toppings for your burgers, you can prepare those and by the time you’re done getting the toppings laid out your burgers should be done.

Ingredients & measurements

The toppings I used were tomatoes, pickles, lettuce, and barbeque sauce. My kids used ketchup and mustard. Once the cheese is melted on, it can be a little difficult to separate the buns to put toppings on. We made it work. Down below is a list of ingredients I used.

  1. Teaspoon of garlic powder
  2. teaspoon of onion powder
  3. teaspoon of paprika
  4. teaspoon of salt
  5. teaspoon of black pepper
  6. 3 lbs of ground beef
  7. Silder buns
  8. tomatoes
  9. lettuce
  10. pickles
  11. onion
  12. condiments of choice
  13. Shredded cheese

The seasonings can be adjusted to taste if you like.

Rating and review

Overall, this was a quick, delicious meal that everyone enjoyed and definitely wanted more of. This meal is going to be rated a 10 out of 10. I left some links below to the type of cheese and buns I used. You can get all your ingredients from the grocery store nearest you.

The dairy free shredded cheese I used is listed here: https://www.aldi.us/products/dairy-eggs/cheese/detail/ps/p/earth-grown-vegan-mozzarella-style-shreds-1/.

Another type of dairy cheese that is a very well-known and good brand is Daiya. I get mine from Korger. https://www.kroger.com/p/daiya-dairy-free-cheddar-shredded-cheese/0087145900321. In my opinion Daiya cheese melts better than Earth Grown. Earth Grown is cheaper at Aldi, and the kids still love and eat both either way.

The type of ground beef I use is 100% grass fed beef. The cows are supposed to be eating grass their entire life instead of grain, are free roaming, and are less likely to be given antibiotics.

I use Martins Potato Bread for our buns. They have no preservatives and taste great. They are listed here: https://www.kroger.com/p/martin-s-sliced-slider-potato-rolls/0007518500004?searchType=default_search.

I hope you enjoy this recipe as much as we did. It will be another meal we make for sure. Let me know in the comments below if you tried this on your own or other ways you make your sliders! I would love to hear about the way you make yours! Talk soon!
