“When Mom Life Feels Heavy; 10 Scriptures That Lift the Weight”

If we are being honest, mom life feels heavy sometimes. Not just “I need 10 minutes” heavy – but the kind of heavy that sits in your chest, follows you from room to room, and makes the everyday things feel a little harder than usual.

The mental load, the expectations, the “Am I doing enough?”, the guilt, the noise, the constant giving… this can pile up over time, even when we love our families with our whole heart.

But the truth is you were never meant to carry every weight alone. There is strength, peace, and a comfort available to us- one that doesn’t run out. And the Most High reminds us of this over and over again in His Word.

Today I want to give you 10 scriptures that are helping me on my motherhood journey. You can speak these over yourself whenever life starts to feel heavy. They will certainly help you breathe again.

1. 2 Timothy 1:7

“For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self- discipline.”

When overwhelm starts to kick in and mom life feels heavy- the fear of failing your kids, the doubts about whether you’re doing this mom thing right- remember this: Fear isn’t from Him. Strength is. Power, love, and self-discipline already live in you, even on the days you don’t feel it. Call on Him and He will help you.

2. John 14:27

“I am leaving you with a gift- peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give.”

The world will tell you to “try harder.” To hustle. To handle everything yourself. But Yahusha offers something better: peace that settles your mind and quiets your heart- even when the house is loud, the schedule is full, or your emotions are tired. His peace isn’t earned it’s given. Continue to pray and ask for these things He will deliver.

3. Galatians 6:9

“So let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessings if we don’t give up.”

There are days when you can feel invisible. When it feels like no one sees the sacrifices or the work you put in behind the scenes. You know who does see? The Most High. Every seed of love you plant- every prayer, every meal, every teaching moment, every act of patience- will grow into a harvest time. Don’t give up. You are sowing more than you realize.

4. Proverbs 3:5-6

“Trust in the LORD with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seekd his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take.”

Motherhood comes with hard decisions- schooling, discipline, health, routines, relationships. And sometimes you don’t know the right answer. These verses remind you that you never have to figure it all out alone. Trust Him, seek His direction, and he will guide your steps- even in the small things.

5. Joshua 1:9

“This is my command- be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the LORD your God is with you wherever you go.”

On the days when you feel drained, when you’re questioning yourself, when everything feels like too much, He is with you right there. In the kitchen, in the car, in the late-night moments when tears fall quietly. He never leaves your side. You can call on Him whenever you need Him.

6. Colossians 3:23-24

“Work willingly at whatever you do, as though you are doing it for the Lord rather than for people… The Master you are serving is Christ.”

Motherhood can feel like repetitive work no one acknowledges. The cleaning, the cooking, the laundry, the teaching… it can wear on your heart. But this scripture reminds you that your work matters. Not because other notice, but because He does. Every act of love you do for your family is service to Him.

7. Psalm 23:1

“The LORD is my shepherd; I have all that I need… He renews my strength… He guides me along the right paths.”

This passage is like a deep breath on a hard day when mom life feels heavy. It reminds us that in the moments we feel empty, tired, or stretched thin- He restores us. He leads us. He strengthens us. You don’t have to force your way through everything. Let Him Shepherd you.

8. Psalm 34:17

“The LORD hears his people when they call to him for help.”

Your quiet “Yah, please help me today” prayers? He hears them. The ones you say in frustration, in sadness, in exhaustion? He hears those too. Nothing you bring to Him is ignored. He answers at His own time and provides when ready. Don’t stop praying or give up. He hears you.

9. Psalm 34:19

“The righteous person faces many troubles, but the LORD comes to the rescue each time.”

Motherhood will bring challenged- of course we know this already. But this verse is a promise: He rescues. He provides. He steps in. You may feel weak, but you are never abandoned. We are supposed to call on Him when we feel this way. He wants us to.

10. Psalm 72:13

“He feels pity for the weak and the needy, and he will rescue them.”

On the days when you feel worn out, fragile, or just downright exhausted know that He does not shame you, reject you or turn away. He draws near, has compassion, and rescues. You are held, Mama- even when you feel like you’re barely holding it together.

When the Weight Feels Heavy… Lean In

If you take anything from this post let it be this: you are not alone. You don’t have to carry everything by yourself. Even when you feel you have no support or you feel taken for granted. Our Creator sees and hears it all. He will meet you in the heaviness- to give you strength and uplift you. He will fill you with peace that makes no sense to the world. That’s why when we feel this way we call on Him!
